March 1, 2019
After what felt like the longest January on record February has flown by! As always the Fanatic Studio has been a hive of activity with some fantastic new design work, our team expanding and even a trip to Finland. With the new Scrapbook theme you can also find out what inspires our team, and the songs we’ve had on repeat this month.
Experiences in Food
We’ve been working with our friends over at Lime Venue Portfolio again on the launch of their new campaign and exhibition ‘Experiences in Food’ – you’ll be seeing a lot more of this over the next few weeks, but to give you a little taster of what’s to come, check out this nice bit of typography taken from the brand lock-up.
Google Ads Optimisation
We were asked to take over a clients Google Adwords account at the end of last as they hadn’t been having much luck with their previous agency. We were more then happy to help and set about optimising their account and creating dedicated landing pages for their PPC Ads. One of the most important parts of a successful Google Adwords campaign is to have a great landing page. As we had built their website we were able to create a page for each advert, and by selecting the right keywords and creating some great ad content their PPC has really taken off.
Web Design Process
The video below gives you a little insight into all the design work that goes into building our websites. Tom, one of our design team, animated how he felt the new Carmicheal Fisher website could look and how the user would move around the page. From this Sergio, one of our Tech Wizards, went about coding this elements up.
Through the design process, with input from all of our team and the client’s feedback, we have continued to develop and grow off this original idea. This is one of our strengths as a full creative agency, being able to take a website from concept to completion, improving it as we go.
Joel Meyerowitz
This month Becks has been inspired by Joel Meyerowitz, who is a street photographer and portrait and landscape photographer. He began photographing in colour in 1962 and was an early advocate of the use of colour during a time when there was significant resistance to the idea of colour photography as serious art.
How to train your Dragon
Tom recently went to see the film How to train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and was blown away by the quality of the animation and cinematography. This isn’t the first time Tom’s been inspired by the trilogy, check out this illustration he designed a while back after seeing the second film!
A new addition to the studio
Our Digital Marketing Team has expanded this month with the addition of James, who comes in as our Technical SEO Expert. James brings to the team a diverse portfolio in all aspects of web development & design, as well as digital marketing, SEO and advanced reporting.
Finland Fanatics!
We have just come back from an amazing adventure in Finland. We were keen to explore within the arctic circle, and so flew to Kittilia in Lapland (1000 km north of Helsinki) with hopes to see the northern lights. With snow up to our waists we enjoyed walking in snow shoes across frozen lakes, tobogganing, mountain walks but best of all, we loved going huskie dog sledding.
We drove on ice roads, experiencing temperatures from -10 to -28.5, so wrapping up warm was essential. We enjoyed the simplicity and pureness of Finland with its hot berry juice and Kotas (Finnish wooden hut with a fire where you can grill sausages) . On our last night we were even treated to the northern lights displaying above our house, an amazing sight!
Here are some of our best bits….
