August 2024

This month at Fanatic, we hosted the Euro 2024 sweepstakes, launched new go-live packages for our Digital Marketing team, and developed branding for StorkFund. We also focused on accessibility in web development and continued our usual website production, branding projects, and digital marketing activities.

Euro 2024 Sweepstake at Fanatic

This month, we held the Euro 2024 sweepstakes during our weekly team call on Zoom. Thomas organised the draw, and with our numbers, a few lucky ones, including Mary, Stathis, and Harley, each ended up with two teams to support.

Some might say Thomas getting France was pure luck, while others whispered about a fix. Throughout the tournament, we were all rooting for England and were sad to see them lose in the final to Spain. Amy, who drew England, secured 40% of the cash pot. Ultimately, Benny triumphed with Spain, taking home 60%.

It was a fun and engaging way to celebrate the Euros together!

What's new in the Design team?

StorkFund Brand Workshop

This month, we have been working on the branding and website for a new client, StorkFund. We welcomed Javeste and Evelyn to The Tobacco Factory’s Red Room for the workshop, where we developed the creative foundations of this exciting new ‘embryonic’ business! They are great clients to work with and we look forward to sharing more when the project launches.

Accessibility Matters

We’ve recently been working with several clients whose websites have an international audience. This means that we’ve been taking web accessibility even more seriously, as these websites are required to meet specific accessibility standards.

We’ve been working hard to ensure these websites meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance and are accessible to everyone, especially those with disabilities. To achieve this, we’ve followed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which provide a clear framework for making web content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

Meeting ADA compliance is crucial because it not only prevents legal issues but also ensures that our website is inclusive and user-friendly. As content changes and new pages are created, this could create more potential accessibility concerns, so we’re proactively undertaking audits to ensure they stay compliant over time.

The latest news from the Digital Marketing team

New Go-Live Packages

Stathis and Mary have recently developed comprehensive go-live packages for the Digital Marketing team. These packages are designed to cater to varying client needs and include four distinct options: No Digital (the fewest digital hours), Hummingbird, Parrot and Peacock (the most digital hours).

Stathis will assign the appropriate package to the go-live project based on the type of website —whether it’s a migration or a new build—and the number of hours the client has purchased. This structured approach helps to set clear expectations for both the client and our team, ensuring everyone understands the specific tasks that will be carried out during the website’s go-live process.

With these new packages, we aim to streamline the go-live experience, providing a transparent and efficient process that meets our clients’ diverse needs.

We've been visiting…

Ian at the French Alps

Ian has been in the French Alps, working remotely from his mobile studio (van!), mainly testing a new web app we have going live. He was in France with his son Max, who was competing in the U19 Windsurfing European Championships in the iQFoil Class. The beautiful view, warm weather, and French food were great consolations for needing to work while away!

Amy Went to France to See the Olympic Games

Amy visited Paris for the weekend to watch the Olympic Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Qualifiers. She has always wanted to be able to watch the gymnastics at the Olympics so this was an amazing trip for her. She managed to see the GB Men’s and Women’s Teams, which both have qualified for the Team finals, as well as the US Men’s and Women’s Teams – particularly the greatest gymnast of all time, Simone Biles!
