Fruit-Full at Fanatic

We recently made a collective decision to embrace healthier snacking habits by opting for fresh fruits and nuts instead of our usual chocolate and crisps. Although we are missing our sugar hits, we are enjoying the benefit of this decision and feel healthier for it.

Bananas, oranges and grapes have become popular choices among our team, providing a delicious and nutritious boost, while apples, melons and pineapples are gradually gaining traction.

Go-Live of NTR plc

We’re pleased to announce the go-live of a website we’ve been working on over the last few months. The website is for NTR plc, a company focused on fund management for green energy technologies, including wind and solar. The website includes an interactive map and animated features to help elevate the user experience.

This has been a project the whole team has enjoyed working on and we’re incredibly happy with the outcome and hope to continue working with NTR in future!

Content Delivery Networks

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a network of servers strategically placed across various locations around the world – these locations are also referred to as “edge locations”. Its primary function is to deliver web content, such as images, videos, CSS files and JavaScript files, to users more efficiently by delivering these assets from servers that are located physically closer to the user.

When a user requests to view a page on your website or web application, instead of retrieving all the content from a single origin server, the CDN caches copies of your site’s content on its own edge-located servers. This proximity reduces the physical distance data needs to travel, resulting in faster load times and a smoother browsing experience for website visitors.

Key benefits that a CDN brings to your website include:

– Improved Performance & Enhanced Reliability: By caching content closer to users and distributing it across multiple servers, CDNs reduce latency, accelerate page load times, and ensure uninterrupted access to your website, regardless of location or traffic fluctuations.

– Global Reach & Scalability: With servers worldwide, CDNs enable your website to reach a global audience seamlessly and handle increased traffic demands without compromising performance.

The latest news from the Digital Marketing team

Harley’s Content Masterclass

In March, Harley attended an ‘Epic Content Masterclass’, that covered the content strategies of top-level B2B influencers. A variety of topics were covered, including how to create compelling content that gets picked up by social algorithms, how to grow followers and engagement, and experiments to grow your reach.

Harley then presented his learnings back to the team during one of our standups. Some of the key takeaways from Harley’s standup were:

– Understanding the three types of content that focus on attracting, nurturing, and converting new leads organically

– Discovering the improved potential of personal profiles vs. branded profiles

– Understanding the flexibility of content and how it can engage users at different stages of your organic social pipeline

Say Hi to Our New SEO Specialist, Amy!

How have you found life at Fanatic so far?
Great so far! Everyone has been very welcoming and I feel like I have settled in well and got stuck into the work.

What were you doing before Fanatic, and what made you get into digital marketing?
Although I studied Biomedical Science at university, I got my first SEO role straight after graduating. With my experience creating content for social media and my science/analytical background, SEO seemed like a great discipline to move into due to its reliance on research and analytics.

What made you choose Fanatic?
I had a great experience in my interviews. I could tell that everyone works well together and I was impressed at how experienced and knowledgeable everyone is. Having come from an extremely small agency, I really wanted to work in a big team where I could learn a lot from my peers. I also love that Fanatic is a creative agency and not just a digital marketing agency, as everyone feeds off each other’s creative energy.

What have you enjoyed most so far?
I have enjoyed just hitting the ground running and getting stuck into all the work. I’ve really appreciated that everyone trusts me and respects my opinions, even though I am new.

What are you looking forward to learning more about?
I am looking forward to developing my SEO knowledge, particularly around subjects such as how Google updates affect ranking. I am also interested in learning more about the other areas of digital marketing we offer, as I have only ever worked in SEO.

What’s an interesting fact about you?
I won the Dance World Championships in 2017, representing Wales, and claimed the silver medal in 2018 and 2022. This year I will be returning to the championships representing England – as I now train at a dance studio in England.

The Tobacco Factory was buzzing this weekend as it hosted the Bristol Jazz Festival for the first time.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to see the awesome Clare Teal Quintet. It was a really entertaining evening celebrating Jazz favourites as well as some more contemporary covers, such as Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, all wrapped around Clare’s witty storytelling and banter with her band.

I’m already looking forward to next year!
